Hang tags are more than a sneaker accessory. While there is ongoing debate within the sneaker community about whether hang tags should be worn on a sneaker after purchasing, the history behind this part of the shoe is important, and people all over the world engage with sneaker hang tags differently as a way to call attention to the shoe and the shoe brand they are wearing. In the 80s and 90s, hang tags were worn on sneakers to make a statement. This take on sneaker fashion is not as popular today, however, hang tags represent the history of a sneaker and its brand differently than the shoe itself. In this workshop, you will learn how to create your own sneaker hang tag inspired by your personal style and history, using shrink or recycled plastic.
